I work (or should say worked) in a special ed school for those with behavior problems and kids with autism. Its a very challenging job physically. I havent been able to work in the last 10 months. I tried doing it full time but just 1 day at work would have me in bed for 4 days after. I am recently separated from my husband and had to move back in with my parents b/c I am too broke to live on my own. My parents do not get along(never have). My father is controlling and verbally very mean. I also suffer from severe depression so my living conditions, being separated from my husnabd and not being able to work and be independent has left me feeling worthless and like the biggest loser. Anyway...I want nothing more than to go back to work, but I am in so much pain I dont know what to do. The field I work in is what I went to school for. What if I will never be able to do that job again. I'm just so scared.
Any advice??? Sorry i wrote so much, just a bad night i guess. Posted on 08/13/08, 11:08 pm |

I am so sorry your having such a hard time with so much. I so understand how your feeling. I too am unable to work in the field I study in and love so much. Fibro really makes every thing so much harder. I feel for you with your living condition. I wish I could help in some way. But unfortunately all I have to offer is a kind word and letting you know I am thinking of you. Hopefully you will get some help and answer soon.
Gentle hugs, Sherrall

I don't know that I have any advice but I wanted you to know that i cared and am sorry to hear about your setbacks. I always try to remember,as hard as, it is that God has a plan for us and even when it seems like we can't take any more he never gives us more than we can handle. I try when i get down to do some prayer and meditation

Can't answer that yet because I am not. My ex MIL had a few bad years but then she has gone back to working and doing things I used to love doing.I know when she first got it she would rush home when a storm hit and she would sit in the whirlpool bath tub then her husband would get hermeds, he was a paramedic like mine, and she would go to bed and sleep for a few days.

Keep sticking with the supplements D-Ribose and Magnesium. I couldn't function if I didn't take them. These are my main two. I am chemical intolerant also.
We have to remember to replenish our emotional and physical energy that we use at work. Can you do some meditation when you get home?

Nikki,
I had to quit my job in April. I worked with Special Ed. high school students and 2 years of that was with emotionally disturbed kids. I worked with autistic students and down sydrome students as well. I understand how difficult that job is. It was difficult but I loved it...and I really hated not going back Monday. I'm sorry that you are going through so many difficult things at once. I think the only advice I can give you is to take it one day at a time. If I worry about tomorrow or next week I become so overwhelmed. I also try not to dwell on what I can't do anymore. That is enough to drive me batty. Please know that I am praying for you. ((gentle hugs))
