MUSINGS, BUT SORRY NO JOKE
Watch this
View More Posts Ignore
Hello There,

I am letting you all know up front that I am letting you down today. I can not think of one joke nor have any stored right now. I am sorry for this error on my part. I will, you can trust, make up for this flaw in the morning musings.

I had a pretty moderate pain level day yesterday, Yeahhhhhh. I hope you had a good day also.

I discovered something I find interesting...I was cleaning out the freezer and found a turkey that was not going to last too much longer, so I decided to cook it....with mashed potato and gravy.....The family was not so impressed as on Thanksgiving. It was good, but not great. Does the holiday add to the flavor? or does turkey only taste good if it is stuffed and served with cranberry sauce, soup, salad, beans, and more food than many villages in Upper Mongolia eat in a week?

I've had some sad news concerning one of my life long friends. (Background, From about 3rd grade on, I have been best friends with 6 guys. Through the years, we all got married, and our group grew to 14 best friends....then the kids came.... I am Friend/Sister/Aunt to them and their families, and they are the same to my family..it is an interesting and amazing thing. As of today, there are 9 of the 14 adults left).

My friend Chuck lost his 4 year battle with brain cancer 2 years ago, and we put him to rest. On Monday, his wife Cath learned that she has cancer of the everything...2 years possibly with chemo...possibly 6 months without....she has a big decision to make and her family take another blow so soon....Her children are 27, and 30, but they are still her kids, and she has a 3 month old grand daughter that has been bringing joy into her life again. Life can really bite the big one sometimes.

Anyway, Since I am out of jokes today, you will either have to talk among yourselves or send me one to share with you.

I hope you have a wonderful day today and find 100 reasons to smile.

Lots of Love
D

" Sorry to hear that D. I found a joke that I hope gives you a bit of a smile. ((Hugs))

The strong young man at the construction site was bragging
that he could outdo anyone in a feat of strength. He made a
special case of making fun of one of the older workmen. After
several minutes, the older worker had had enough.

"Why don't you put your money where your mouth is," he said.
"I will bet a week's wages that I can haul something in a
wheelbarrow over to that outbuilding that you won't be able to
wheel back."

"You're on, old man," the braggart replied. "Let's see what you
got."

The old man reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the
handles. Then, nodding to the young man, he said, "All right.
Get in." "

" Forgot to add, I probably won't be back on today & possibly tomorrow. Our new puppy chewed up the cord to the laptop & it doesn't work anymore. I don't have much power left, but we should be getting a new cord by tomorrow. Hope everyone has a terrific day & weekend! ((hugs)) "

" Good morning D!

I'm so sorry for your loss. You know, I learned at a young age, to respect cancer and the choices one makes regarding them. I also learned to not like Cancer. In addition to all of that, I learned that I really don't understand life at times.

I'm glad that you had a good day pain wise yesterday. I'm gonna post some funnies. I've always had a good time hearing about what kind of dumb things people do. Since I suffer from other dumb things in my own life:

When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find an ill man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges, saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had.

Drug-possession defendant Christopher Johns, on trial in March in Pontiac, Michigan, said he had been searched without a warrant. The prosecutor said the officer didn't need a warrant because a "bulge" in Christopher's jacket could have been a gun. Nonsense, said Christopher, who happened to be wearing the same jacket that day in court. He handed it over so the judge could see it. The judge discovered a packet of cocaine in the pocket and laughed so hard he required a five-minute recess to compose himself.

R.C. Gaitlin, 21, walked up to two patrol officers who were showing their squad car computer equipment to children in a Detroit neighborhood. When he asked how the system worked, the officers asked him for a piece of identification. Gaitlin gave them his driver's license, they entered it into the computer, and moments later they arrested Gaitlin because information on the screen showed that Gaitlin was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery in St. Louis, Missouri.

See, see, now there. Loosing my keys for the past (and ongoing) 3 months isn't that bad anymore! That or finding the phone in the linen closet too! LOL, it's a good thing that rings!

Hope you all have a good day!
Hugs!

" Good Morning Girls,

I love the jokes and they did, indeed, make me chuckle. You just have to love stupid criminals. They are the best stories.

As for your words of support to me, thank you very much. Like Wonder, I also learned at a young age to respect Cancer. Life is what it is and there is nothing to be done about it.

Rich & Cath's kids will have the support of their pseudo-Aunts and Uncles and counsins (the friends) for as long as we all live. They will cope, survive this, and live good lives.

As for Cath, I sincerely hope she goes quickly....in the next few minutes, days, weeks. She will be in a far better place than what is coming her way. "

" D I am sorry that your day has such sad news involved. It is just so lucky youkept in touch and stayed friends for so very long. I don't have one friend from school from moving to much.

Don't Fart in Bed
This a story about a couple who had been happily married for years. The only
friction in their marriage was the husband's habit of farting loudly every
morning when he awoke. The noise would wake his wife and the smell would make
her eyes water and make her gasp for air.
Every morning she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was
making her sick. He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly
natural. She told him to see a doctor; she was concerned that one day
he would blow his guts out.
The years went by and he continued to blast them out! Then one Thanksgiving
morning as she was preparing the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound
asleep, she looked at the bowl where she had put the turkey innards and neck
gizzard, liver and all the spare parts and a malicious thought came to her.
She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband was sound asleep and,
gently pulling back the bed covers, she pulled back the elastic
waistband of his underpants and emptied the
bowl of turkey guts into his shorts.
Some time later she heard her husband waken with his usual trumpeting which was
followed by a blood curdling scream and the sound of frantic footsteps
as he ran into the bathroom.
The wife could hardly control herself as she rolled on the floor laughing, tears in her eyes! After years of torture she reckoned she had gotten him back pretty good.
About twenty minutes later, her husband came downstairs in his bloodstained
underpants with a look of horror on his face. She bit her lip as she asked him
what was the matter.
He said, "Honey, you were right. All these years you have warned me and,I didn't listen to you."
"What do you mean?" asked his wife.
"Well, you always told me that one day I would end up farting my guts out, and
today it finally happened. But by the grace of God, some Vaseline, and two fingers, I think I got most of them
back in." "

" Morning, D....so sorry to hear. About 4 yrs ago, I lost 9 family members in a span of 16 months and most of them to cancer. I watched them suffer and go through hell and back. It was then that I realized how lucky I was JUST t to have fibro.

My heart goes out to you, its those losses that hit us the hardest....the people who know us almost as well as we know ourselves. Just enjoy the time left and make some more good memories.

Although I have to make a trip to town, I am withdrawing from the world today. I will take my music with me and just tune out the craziness of the stores. There's nothing on me that doesn't hurt. Moving my fingers makes my arm hurt clear up to the shoulder. Bear is taking off work early to unload and help me put stuff away.

On the local news this morning they were talking about having to have closed one building on the hospital campus because of a hydrogen pyroxide spill. I told Bear....they better add some security because they are gonna be swamped with the blondes in town.

Gentle huggles to all! "

" Morning Gals...
and Miss D, honey... just want to say I am thinking of you with extra love and prayers today. Damn cancer! *&%$#@

We lost three good friends to cancer in the past few years--ages 51, 57, 60... (Jack and I fear it is the reality of our age group that we lose our contemporaries right when they should be retiring and relaxing and enjoying the fruits of their labors) So hard to accept, especially life-long friends.
Their children are fortunate to have Aunt D to lean on.

A very wise old friend of mine who lived until she was 88--still rocking and rolling and-- in fact, your humor and spirited nature remind me of Marian--well, she mused to me once..."God's blessed me with so many good friends and a fine husband and a LONG life..... But my long life is s mixed blessing...I have watched them all go before me...and I am left behind...But, I am still here...and others must need me here, I guess."...and she kept on chugging, a mother hen and AA sponsor to thousands .....

Not a "joke" but a story that should make you smile, I hope...

Love to all. Gone all day...Dr. appt. and such...see you all later...soft bunny hugs, G "
