Does anyone else get "floaters" in their field of vision... little black specs that just float around wherever you look?

I am having a hug problem the past several weeks with this floater in my left eye that is smack dab in the middle of my vision field and it makes it so hard to READ!!!!!

" I have a bunch too but they don't interfere with my visual field - they just annoy me.

They CAN be a symptom of bigger issues though - you might want to see your doctor and see if you need a referral for any sort of testing. "

" I just re-read the post - are you saying this "floater" doesn't move around? You said it is in the middle of your field of vision. If it's not moving it might not be a floater, and could definitely be more serious - if that's the case, definitely get it checked out. "

" I have floaters part of getting older, I also had one right in the middle went to an optometerist and he said it was a floater and would go away, IT never did. I was blind in that eye. I got on here and wrote some dr for free advice, he said see a retina specialist, which I did, But it was TOO LATE to save my vision. I didnt have a retinal detachment like some do that causes the blindness I just had a blood vessel pop behine my macula that gives you your central vision.

So now I am blind in my one eye because I messed around with some optometerist that didnt know what he was doing and didnt have the right equipment, more then just dilate your eye and look, to tell me to see a specialist,.

GO TO A RETINA SPECIALIST. esp if it doesmt move. Hope you arent too late. "

" At first I thought it was just a spot on my glasses, so I kept cleaning them. Then I realized I get it anytime, wihtout wearing my reading glasses, and I don't have to be reading for it to happen, that is just when it bothers me the most.
I'd say it started about a month ago.

But I have had the black floaters, I can remember since I was 20 and I am now 31. "

My cloudly floater in my left eye does move around some, but ends up in the middle of my vision field and I blink a lot to try to refocus my eye so it will move. "

" Ponder43,

Thanks for posting that youtube about Lyme Disease. It was very interesting.

My doctor tested me for Lyme and it came back negative. I know I was bit by a tic when I was about 9 or 10 years old though, and I told her that. "
