I feel like my anxiety is getting worse. I want to just jump out of my skin. Everything makes me nervouse or on edge. I already take klonpin 2mg 4 times a day but i have a high tollerence to meds and just dosen't seem to do anything much for me. I thought the whole point of nerve pills were to keep you calm. I get so anxious it stresses me then I end up in a flare. I want to ask my doc when i go back if i can go back to lorazapam. I think it worked better and see it he will increase the mg.
Also I still don't sleep well and everyone seems to be having luck with trazadone so I am going to ask about that too.
Anyone else have extreme anxiety. If so what helps it. Feel like I am losing my mind

" I'm just now coming to an understanding that my anxieties are related to Fibro. It's getting more intense as I get older. I HAVE to HAVE family around me at all times. Or I freak out. I can't run to the store like most people. It's torture to me. I know I need to get a firm grip on it. As for now, I've taken Xanax from time to time as the docs feel it's necessary. I'm sure I'll need to go and see a psych doc soon in order to actually get a script again. I hate them...they always want you to talk. I clam up just like I do in interviews. Anywhere else, I can talk up a storm.

So, to sum it up, my anxiety makes me feel like a freak. All the time. I'd so love to just take my sister's advise to just toughen up buttercup....but tried that. The more I try to control it, the worse I get.

Deep breathing helps. But it also brings on the tears. "

" I have had problems with anxiety and panic disorder for years. When Paxil first came out, my doctor prescribed it for me and I haven't had a panic attack since! Paxil may be an anti-depressant, but it has worked wonders with my anxiety problem. I imagine I'll be on it for the rest of my life. "

" I went to the doctor yesterday and she increased my effexor. I take 150 mg at night and she wants me to take 50 mg in the morning. One minute I am fine and the next minute I hit bottom. She has set me up for a sleep thing.(I forget the name of it). I sleep real hard. I don't turn over but I think I dream all night long. I can't remember when I wake up but I know I dreamed. I stay so tired I guess that is why she is doing the sleep thing. "

" aleshamontene,
I understand where your at, 20 years competative sport (pushing myself), 10 years running own buisness (watching every penny), 3 years army (striving for excelance) and 14 years Airforce(again striving for excelance) left me a narrowly, focused ungrateful, anxious human being. Frequantly I have fount that I have vitimin and mineral imbalances. Our bodies particularly our spinal fluid, circulatory system, brains use our mineral reserves to restore themselves after they have "busted all the toxins they can" from our systems. Magnesium is a main "player" in the restoration of body systems and is key ingrediant in reducing anxiouty. Magnesium is a critical co-factor in more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the human body. Potassium and magnesium are the most abundant cations found within the cells of the body with magnesium being the most abundant divalent cation. If you arn't getting enough them our bodies suffer and scream.
I invite you to read;
http://www.mbschachter.com/importa...

What are some of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency? Twitches, cramps, muscle tension, muscle soreness, including back aches, neck pain, tension headaches and jaw joint (or TMJ) dysfunction. Further Magnesium markedly affects the central nervous system is .Symptoms also include insomnia, anxiety, hyperactivity and restlessness with constant movement, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and premenstrual irritability.
Talk to your Dr or Chemist about safe dosage levels.
I've uped my Magnesium intake and I'm finding it very beneficial, I hav now elminated tremour, muscle spasms, cramps and the feeling of "I cant breath deep enough".
Hope its a help. You'll never know unless you give it a go.
Cheers
