I feel like my anxiety is getting worse. I want to just jump out of my skin. Everything makes me nervouse or on edge. I already take klonpin 2mg 4 times a day but i have a high tollerence to meds and just dosen't seem to do anything much for me. I thought the whole point of nerve pills were to keep you calm. I get so anxious it stresses me then I end up in a flare. I want to ask my doc when i go back if i can go back to lorazapam. I think it worked better and see it he will increase the mg.
Also I still don't sleep well and everyone seems to be having luck with trazadone so I am going to ask about that too.
Anyone else have extreme anxiety. If so what helps it. Feel like I am losing my mind

" There are times when i have Extreme bouts of Anxiety...do you do anything else other then meds to try to relieve it ? deep breathing, soft music, stretching...on a beautiful day when my Anxiety kicks into high gear, I get myself Out of the house and walk...Go for a swim at the rec center...I go thru periods like this off and on...and I have to handle it without the meds, cause they make me sick to my stomach, and will usually lose them before they have a chance to do anything for me28 years ago I was so strung out on valuim...you look at my pictures of me with my baby Rasha, my eyes are Slits, how I ever made it thru that I will never know...I simply had to learn to "Work thru them"...Not an easy task...but now after so many years, I do OK... " Medications affect everyone differently, and you just have to do the trial and error thing. Hopefully you have an understanding doc.
I started taking Hylunds Nerve Tonic homeopathy that I found at the health food store....very safe..and it helps me immensely!!!! $12 a bottle, so affordable! "

" I struggle with the anxiety thing too, but I've found that if I faithfully take my B-complex vitamins that it seems to help! And I agree with Dakota, if you can get outside when you feel that "feeling" coming on, it sure helps!
Hope you find a solution that works for ya!
hugs,
Brat "

" Oh my that is a high dose of klonapin. It is very addictive. Do not come off of it at once you have to cut back very gradually. I hope you have not been on it long. No doctor should ever prescribe that doseage. I know! Hugs and good luck "

" I am in pain all the time. I don't know for sure if it is the arthritis of Fibro? I think it's the Fibro. My arthritis doctor does not believe there is such a thing as Fibromyalgia. He says he will treat the arthritis but no pills for the Fibro. So the pain is almost debilitating for me. Hate to be dependent on pills but they do help. The most helpful pill I've had has be Ultram or generic name of Tramadol sp? It worked so good. Then I had to switch HMO's and the doctor I had is not am member of this HMO. So I suffer and don't bother to complain. "

" Alesha, I'm sorry you are having such high anxiety! I know how bad it can make you feel.

I take xanax for mine, 0.5 mg, 3 times a day. It doesn't always get rid of it, but it does calm me down some. I agree with Dakota on the deep breathing. I learned to do deep, cleansing breaths when I was in the hospital. We had groups, and one taught us deep breathing. I was admitted to the stress unit for 7 days, after I had such anxiety, I had a meltdown and I learned alot.

You breathe in deeply, to the count of 10, make sure you breathe deeply enough to expand all the way down to your abdomen, let it out slowly, through your mouth, to the count of ten. Do this anywhere from 2-10 times in a row..it really does help.

I also take trazadone for sleep. Its prescribed as needed at 100 mgs. That dose is too high for me, so I break the pill in half and get good sleep. I only take them when neccesary. When I take the full 100 mg, I have vivid dreams and feel hungover the next day.

You really need to talk to your Dr. and get something else for anxiety. I take the xanax about 30 mins before bed, and it helps me relax enough to fall asleep.

Good Luck, Honey!

Hugs,
laurie "

" I am the same way. As if being in pain isn't enough! Everything would give me axiety. Even if the phone just rang I would be freaking out. I am taking Lexapro which really helps my depression but does nothing for my anxiety. My doctor put me on Vistaril 3 times a day and it has really helped take the edge off. I can tell a huge differance if I have forgotten to take it. You may want to ask your doctor if this might be a good medication for you to try. I hope you start feeling better. "
