And called my doc about the pain i've been having for three days now. I never call my docs unless I have to. His answer was to take Tylenol. Um yeah. Tylenol. I could think of so many cuss words right now. He offered amytriptyline but I can't take that, I used it as a teen for migraines and made me violent. So I asked about Soma since Robaxin isn't working enough. He said to take more Robaxin. Yeah screw my liver I don't need it. And all I have for pain meds is Naproxen and that's for my arthritis. Tylenol. I just can't say that enough. Friggin Tylenol. For any doctors reading this, don't you ever disrespect the amount of pain a person is in and tell them to take Tylenol for this. I took Tylenol when I had my thyroid removed instead of a morphine drip, so if i'm feeling I need something more right now what is the problem?

Yeah get a better doc. What an ass! You shouldn't have to put up with that at all. You're doc should be treating you, not torturing you like we're still in the mid evil times! I had to file a complaint against a doc like that before, so I suggest you do the same. Good luck and hope you get the right doc this time!

I am so sorry that you are not being treated properly, if at all. In my experience, after 20 years of suffering, a colleague recommended a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor. My life is so different and so much better. They understand pain and try to help rather than just shut you up. My PMR doc sent me to a physical therapist, prescribed proper pain relief, and I feel so much better most of the time. I wish you well!

Yeah I am calling tomorrow for a new doc. I also found out today that I may have Lupus which is what they originally thought. Could be both? I will call this doc back tomorrow though because he agreed to give me tender point injections and give me a referral to a pain clinic. He also offered me to get a second opinion. He wasn't a jerk at all I just don't think he understands this.

I get so damn tired of hearing tylenol and naproxen! really? that'll work, you don't say! then they add, do you use a heating pad. Docs seem more and more scared these days to prescribe drugs for pain.

Nyina, 2 things then I'll shut up, short and sweet
1. Yes you can have both lupus and arthritis and a whole hose of other things. Once our autoimmunte response kicks in, it does it with a vengeance. 2. Your doctor is an ass and needs to have half the amount of pain you are in inflicted on him. Then you can give him a Tylenol. Take care sweetie and find another doc. Love, Cat

tylenol, i try to avoid it, causes liver damage. I only could take tylenol with my GERD but then had liver inflammation. I was in alot of pain went to ER , he told me to stay away from tylenol its hard on your liver, A rheumy told me the same thing. So its just heat for me. Sorry you are having so much pain, but keep searching and you will discover the right dr to help you.
