biofreeze, heating pad info

I have been living with my heating pad. I did a search last night and found biofreeze on several websites. Cheapest was ebay.

Anyone use biofreeze and does it really work?

What type of heating pads do u use and where do u purchase a good heating pad other than a store like walmart?

Is there anything similar to biofreeze that helps with the tight spots and spasms? i use icyhot and the bengay type patches u can buy at walmart?

Looking for anything that will work to help ease some of this pain i cant get rid of? none of my meds are touching my pain so i havent been taking any of my breakthru meds, they are not touching my pain to help relieve it.

Thank u

" Bio freeze is fantastic. I first started using it after i had a massage and Kim rubbed some in after for me. I know it is an expence few of us can afford but i have been in agony with really tight spasaming musscles and i finally had to give in and go for a massage and it was a god send. None of my meds were working and i was screaming in pain it got that bad but i am one of the lucky ones. I have managed to find myself a fantastic sports massage therapist and she does me cheaper rates as she knows my situation and knows that i will keep coming back to her.

Woth regards to heat, i managed to find a really nice heat thing that goes in the microwave. I got it from te body shop and it has really helped with the pain. I found it better then the stick on patches. Loads of lovely people posted loads of ways to make these on a post that i did recently.
Hope you find something to ease your pain soon x x "

" I use biofreeze it works...I use it because it is gentle on the skin...my pharmacy sold it but the pharmacy merged with big y now it is hard to buy...
I was not aware that you do not apply bengay or biofreeze before using the heating pad...Pharmacies have heating pads...i use a sunbeam heating pad...biofreeze smell isnt bad and it is not greasy...go to the website and see if you can get a sample of biofreeze..I heard physical therapy places sell it...good luck...hugs "

" There is something OTC that is part of the same line as HEAD ON -- I think it's called ACTIVE ON. It looks like a jumbo capstick that smells like BenGay and biofreeze.

I got Biofreeze at my physical therapy office but aside from feeling good, BioFreeze, Active On, BenGay, IcyHot, etc. didn't do anything for the pain. "

" I like Biofreeze for the pain that is closest to the skin - not deep in the muscle - if that makes any sense. I have noticed that it seems to lose effectiveness when i use it often - so I switch between that and Arnica cream. In the winter though, my skin gets so itchy and both of those have alcohol in them. I use tea tree oil then. It smells good - not sure how good it works.

Capazian cream is way too burning on my skin - I darn near went to the ER the night I slathered it on and then tried to wash it off with hot water - not recommended!

I also like Tiger Balm - use it to rub the knots out of my muscles - it hurts but I think it makes me feel better afterwards. Biofreeze and Tiger Balm have menthol in and that smell comforts me. Some people don't like it, but I do.

The heating pad works on the deep aching pain but not on the nerve pain - it aggravates that - at least in my experience. "

" I don't think it would be a good idea to use the Biofreeze at the same time you are using the heating bad though. Good luck! "

" Thank u guys. I dont use the heating pad if i use icy hot or the icy hot type patches.

I was curious what types of heating pad you all use and if there is a good one out there that stays hot. The heating pad doesnt get down into my joints and muscles but does help a bit. "

" I use Therma Care heat wraps and honey chile they are the best thing since sliced bread. I cant get through my days sometimes without them.
I like biofreeze also. I used to use Capscaisin but my skin thought it would be cool to develop a sensitivity to it. I sustained a huge chemical burn down my back from it after using it for many yrs as needed only.
I also use the Bed buddy which Walgreens carries. You put it in the microwave and it has beads in it that release moisture. It conforms to your body also, I drape it around my neck for those lovely muscle spasms that damn near kill me. "

" My mother SWEARS by it. I found a site that will give you a free sample, I think it was the company itself, but if your can't find it write me and I'll retrace my steps.

USE THE ROLL ON

Careful not to let someone rub your area that you apply it to because if they rub their eyes the pain is HORRIBLE! "
