I had done some research on fibromyaligia. Found out the symptoms etc and matched them to mine. I had 95% of them and have had for the past 7 years.

I went to my doctor today to talk to him about it. He told me that I was too young to have this and that it was in my head and there was nothing wrong with me and just to take pain killers and I'd be fine.

It's taken me so long to convince my Mum that I'm sick and now she agrees with the doctor and that i'm just making it up.

I'm a mess, I can't stop crying. I've lost all my family and friends, and I've got no one. This was the only way I was going to be able to get some help. My mum wont take me to another doctor.

I can't live with this anymore I'm only 18 but I can't do anything. I'm so sore all the time. I can't walk, I can't work, I can't play any sports, I can't sleep. I have no friends. I've got nothing left to live for.

I don't know what to do.

" amazing that at such a young age you were able to receive pain pills...so many of us have to fight tooth and nail to obtain any relief. Take care of yourself by educating yourself on your symptoms. Please read the treatment section at the top of the site for helpful hints. Peace. "

" Oh, Wabby, I feel for you. Please show your mom this post, or some other adult in your life - perhaps a teacher or co-worker? I completely understand your despair, but don't give up until somebody will listen. "

" I'm sooooo sorry you're facing a life of fibro and your family doesn't believe you. It runs in my family and my niece who's a year younger than you has had it since she was 11....

Anyway, here's a link to the best article I've ever read on fibro and the neurotransmitters in our brains being out of wack.

http://www.drmurphreestore.com/new...

I implimented Dr. Murphree's protocol a few months ago and after 25 very long, sick years, I realized today that having bipolar 2 is now the big issue in my life. I've gone from being 'sick' sick 6 days a week a year ago to a couple of one day flares a week depending on if storms are moving ashore as that always makes me feel awful.

I really believe that a person your age could lead a relatively normal life if they were willing to approach fibro from the point of view of fixing what's wrong before it gets worse. "

" You poor girl, my heart goes out to you.
You need a decent doctor. I am surprised he dished out pain killers like that. Try them, they may work...and if they dont go to another doctor and explain what happened. "

" Its very common for the family members to rather not understand .. mine are the same way with the exception of my hubby.. my daughters, my parents all think its not fibro.. I finally just said ENOUGH.. I can do this and keep to myself and god will help me and be with me when Im in the worst pain. Yes you are old enough to go and see a doc. I feel for you cuz most docs at your age wont give pain meds. I hope you can find a doc soon.. for its not right you should suffer.. no one should have to live with this kind of pain.. hugs to you hun.. :) "

" It is fairly common for family not to believe and some drs don't believe in it. Yes you are 18 and can make your own appointment. You should see a rhuemy.you got a lousy dr. this time. sometimes we have to see a few before we find one willing to help. I am sorry your mom is no help at the moment. If you see another dr. ask before you go if they believe in fibro. ok. hugs hon and don't let people tell you you are not sick and in pain. marilyn "
