I honestly think my 20 year old daughter has it but have yet to have that confirmed by the medical profession.
Morning Aspire :)

Wow Raven...I think my 20 year old daughter has it too. She has such a hard time...but refuses to go to the doctor about it. I think after seeing how it has affected me over the years, she would rather be in denial.

ASPIRE, Like you, I know inmy heart thatmy mother had undiagnosed fibro, and possible my grandmother as well. My 40 year old daughter was dx with it last week, and I am certain my 23 yr old has it. She was in denial for a while, is now accepting she may it, and is trying to treat it naturally. I have read some articles that say it may be genetically linked. My doctor believes it is somewhat similiar to the genetic connection fo diabetes; it is not actually passed on, but the tendency is there, making it much more likely other family members will also have it. Children are now being dx, which I think makes a strong case for a genetic component, otherwise, where did they get it? Not likely from stress, or trauma, or depression, which is what a lot of medical professional say is the cause. So, yeah, i think it is

My birthmother has fibro, and one of my 1/2 brothers has fibro. I also have uterine fibroids (which are currently causing alot of problems), and my birthmother, her mother and her sister all have/had them.
Somethings about my gene pool I'm not liking too much.
Blessings,
Jan

Im an identical twin an my twin doesn't have fibro and I think this is really strange. She does have signs of CFS but she doesn't believe in FMS and doesn' have muscle pain or weakness, yet......If it was genetic, wouldn't we both be more probable to have it. I wonder if there has been research on twins like this. It could rule out some factors possible. Something to think about.

my Mother has Lupus and my Aunt has Fibro and Lupus. I have been tested several times for Lupus with one positive result. have had fibro for about 3 years now, began symptoms following my coccyx removal. I am inclined to believe that it can be genetic.

I think my mom might have it. She has alot of the memory fog & such. I couldn't tell you about her pain levels cuz she has mental issues & almost everything is usually blown out of proportion.
