? I have been diagnosed with Fibro since May of 2006, have been reading this since about July of the same year.
I have never had what I have heard is Fibro Flu, but today I do. Is this something that stays with you for a day, a week, or well how long ? Would taking a Thermaflu tablet help, or not ? I hurt all over, worse then normal, headache, and upset tummy. Thanks for any advise Donna Posted on 07/15/08, 10:07 am |

I've never heard of it - who told you about it? It sounds like what is commonly known as a flare.
I can only speak for myself - I temporarily increase my pain meds and try to say warm (bed, bath, heating pad) - not much else you can do but wait it out.

Peace, I have been told that it's one of the symptoms. The all over ache and pain. I just was feeling the pain, and not the upset tummy, and well, never felt this much pain.
My whole spine hurts, all limbs even the sheets hurt, putting on cloths. Its the headache, and upset tummy that have never been there before, was wondering if a product like for the flu would really help or not. Have to go app with Orthodontist, getting braces off today. Yea not looking forward to the pain. Donna

Perhaps you did catch a flu bug or you are just having a bad flare up. Try to get plenty of rest, push the fluids and monitor your temperature.

Feeling like you have the flu is something that happens with fibro......and I usually get it when I've done too much or been around too many people........
usually rest and liquids, stay warm, etc. and vow not to overdo next time. smile. But I agree with the other posts....I think it's a flare. Although if you do catch the flu, it seems to take me 3 weeks to 'recover' (??), compared to normal people's 1 week.

Yep, sweets, it sounds like a really good flare. I'd try something for the nausea (Emetrol)but the rest sounds like FM.
The others that have posted have suggested all the stuff I try to do when I'm flaring. For some of us it lasts a couple of days while others need a few weeks. Just don't over do things and don't get too down. Take some solace in the fact that it will pass and you will live through it. Hugs to you, :)K

I agree with the other posts here. It sounds like a flare.
There is one good thing about flares, they eventually end!!! When the flare ends I feel I deal with the everyday fm stuff better, (for a while anyway, LOL). Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon. Debbie

Thank you all for your advise, the day before this all started I did get onto the treadmill for 45 min, felt pretty good after, but this what I got for it. Guess have to go slower. After thinking about how it all happened, I'm thinking bad flair, and it continues. Could not go to work last night.
Thank you all again, for your words of wisdom. I mostly read the post, there is so much wisdom just from reading. I'll keep at that. Donna
