Female Sexual Issues Support Group

Hi. Ever since I was put on Zoloft 6 weeks ago, I've been having problems with sex. Within a few days of starting it, I could feel it having a negative effect on my sex drive. I still do have a sex drive even though it's lessened somewhat but it's definitley still there so that's not my main problem. My main problem is that the longer I've been on this med the harder and harder I've been finding it to orgasm. At this point, I am pretty much completely anorgasmic :( I can still get aroused, not as easily as before but I still can, however, I'm having lubrication problems in addition to the orgasm problems. The last time I visited with my boyfriend, I got so frustrated because of these issues that I found myself afterwards downstairs in the living room bawling my eyes out for hours. I feel like I completely failed at the sex and let my BF down. For the life of me, I simply cannot 'get off'. And because of the lubrication problems, I had to use a lubricant in order for us to have intercourse, even though I was in the mood for sex and wanted to have sex. It's been bumming me out a lot lately. I know loss of sex drive is a common side effect of taking an SSRI antidepressant medication, but is there anyone else here who has also become unable to orgasm as well? It's as if everything is asleep or dead 'down there'. My sexual responses are broken or something.

I'm desparately trying to get on the drug Wellbutrin because I hear it can help counteract the negative sexual side effect of the Zoloft, but the nurse won't prescribe it to me just yet, even though I've been trying to get in contact with her to let her know just how much it's been bothering me and why I feel the need to try it now, the sooner the better. Otherwise, I will have to wait another 3 weeks until my next appt. with her, and even then I don't know for sure if she'll prescribe it to me or not, but I'm certainly hoping so and I think there's a good chance she will. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's just a bummer that I have to wait that long because I see my boyfriend again on May 30th, and the Wellbutrin might take a few weeks to start to work (if it will work. I realize it might not) That's why I want to try it now, and in case it doesn't work for me I will still have some time to try to figure something else out.

Has anyone alse here used Wellbutrin along with an SSRI for this reason and has it helped you at all? Is there anything else I can do, or any other kind of pill out there that could help me get my orgasms back?

This majorly sucks and any input or advice is very much appreciated.
