Are there any parents of teen cancer survivors here? My 16 yr. old daughter is 3 months into remission from a malignant ovarian dysgerminoma. I really need someone to talk to about the range of things I'm feeling. someone who can give me advice and a listening ear. I'm feeling completely lost & alone here. My daughter's doctor is less than helpful...sigh. I just don't know where to turn.

" I am not a perent either but I my partner is undergoing chemo and radio therapy as we speak. I understand, to some extent, how this disease leaves those battling the cancer and those who care for the person with cancer, feeling so incredibly isolated. There are some fantastic online resources out there that may give you the information that your daughters specialist is not. Would you feel comfortable raising your issues with them? If you would like me to pass on what limited info I have let me know. Everyday I wish someone would be able to assure me that everything will be ok and that they could provide myself and my partner with the answers we seek. However, no one can provide this, as much as I wish I could give them to you, I can only offer to listen and share your thoughts if you need. Good luck and look after yourself, as well as your daughter! "
