Family & Friends of Cancer Patients Support Group

In 2006, my mom was diagnosed with a recurrence of stage 4 cancer. Our family was nowhere to be found and all my friends abandoned me. It is VERY lonely and VERY scary, I know. But I'm so, so glad the bad people in my life are gone because it left me so much room for *good* people. I made a best friend and married him, and I have other friends, some of which I met in support groups. Don't mourn the loss of bad friends -- try to be glad you're not wasting your time with them! In the meantime, you have us and we're here for you.

thank you all so much for your words of wisdom. My Mom had her surgery Wendsday and the found something in the liver but not sure what. Spread? cyst? now we are waiting for all the biopsy's to come back.i am ver scared not only for myself but for my father who has lived with her for 50 years and is also not well.

Like I said befor our goverment is a crock we can do all thess great things for other countrys BUT WE ARE HURTING RIGHT HERE AT HOME! WHAT ABOUT THE USA! Ya right,I understand what you are saing we have had to fight and fight just to get my dads medicaid to go threw it took us 3 month then we still had to wait so they could get the treatment abroved!!! ITS LIFE THREATENING AND THEY HAD TO WAIT!!Im with you but I bet if it was the presidents parent or loved one they wouldnt have to wait!!!!!!any way lots of love to ya! We will talk later!

I know that it really stinks when you feel alone. I think everyone here wants you to know that you are not alone. I try to check in my support groups often. I lost my mom to cancer and it is scary and hard. I will keep you in my prayers especially your Mom. Big hugs!

I'm sorry to hear this, but you are NOT alone. Although I'm really bad at reading everyone's journal/blogs. I am going through something very much like what you are and it's not easy. I just turned 28 I'm not ready to let my mother go without putting up a fight. I'm here because the same reason as everyone else to help each other. I am not online everyday, but I am pretty good at listening if you want to msg me. = )

I am sorry to hear about your mother and how things are going for her. I know insurance has changed so much and they are very picky as to what they are taking now because of the cost of things being so high. Insurance does not pay for a lot of things now days. They see so many illnesses as a preexisting condition so they will not pay or may even drop people from the policy. They are not fair. In other countries the governments pay the medical treatment. Here we do not have that pleasure at all. I am new here but I hope that I can be here to chat with too. Both of my parents have passes now of cancer.
