I am so sorry about your mom. My dad is also dying from cancer and it is a horrible thing for sure.
I for one dont read the journals, I am to busy for that. I can only read and respond to the posts/discussions here at DS so that may be part of the issue.
What is the issue with her insurance? Why would they not take it??
We are here for you and eachother! You are NOT alone.

she has Medicare and Medicaid. Most of the Univ. Docs don't take them around here. She is still waiting to hear about that and a consutation from this speciatlist as this is rare. unfortunatly because it is so rare, they don't feel her chances are ver good even if she has the surgery. thank you so much for your response you are the first.

I lost my mom to cancer 36 yrs. ago.I would think that any hospital HAS to treat her. She cannot be turned away. I would really think about the surgery. I have had a few people say that if the surgery is relly not going to work, that they would not have gone thru with it. That they would rather would have enjoyed the time they had left versus trying to recover from surgery . It is a hard situation and I wish you all the courage and strength to go forward.

I am very sorry for everything you and your dear Mom are going through. I lost my precious Mom to cancer, and I know how hard this is for you, and how helpless you feel. I am sorry you feel your friends have let you down; I myself, find it hard to keep up with everyones journals, but not because I don't care. I am here if you need to talk. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

It must be very difficult for you.
I am slowly dying of cancer myself. I joined this site to get support as well as be of help to others. I and my wife have found support groups helpful. We also have had anticipatory grief ourselves about my illness. So-it is OK to feel how you are feeling. Seek support of others as well as friends on this support board.
