Before my parents got married my mother was married to another man. My parents always said that the three of them were fine with the way things turned out. And the first husband even found another woman that he was married to until she passed away a few years ago. Well, my parents and this man continued to be good friends and when my sister and I were born he was so excited they named him godfather for both of us, so my sister and I called him our uncle. I'm sixteen now and my sister's twenty and sadly he passed away last night. His sister called us and gave us the news this morning, (he's in another state because my parents decided to move a few years ago). But, my mom is really upset. Our whole family is, but my mom is more than anyone. She's going around the house just cleaning and picking up everything and she's baking a ton of stuff too. I know this is probably just her way of coping but I don't know what to do to help her.

All you can do is give her space and time. Tell her that you love her and that you miss him also. It may take awhile but she will get through it. I am so sorry that all of you are going through this.

How wonderful it is to have people in our life who make such an impact that when they leave, we can't bear to think of life without them.
Just let you mom know, you are sad too and how happy you are that she shared him with you. Let her know you are there if she needs a shoulder because you might need one too.
