My husband has been gone 3 weeks. He was sentenced to 6-8 months and I'm going crazy. I know to some people that is nothing and I don't know how you guys handle it. We have 2 daughters, 6 and 3 years old, and they adore him. I know I need to be strong for them when all I want to do is break down. This is the first time that we have been apart for more than a day or 2 in 7 years and he is my best friend and I can't cope.

Hi and welcome to the group. I have kids too and I"m thankful, they help the day go by faster!! Getting through the first month is the hardest, then like me you'll realize its been 6mo.
Dont think of tomorrow, just concentrate on getting through today only. Remember to breathe, take care of yourself and your kids. Have the kids draw him pictures, write him a lot. I am going through my second bid with my man, the first time I had no support at all. I am soo very grateful this time around, it makes a huge difference having others to talk to who know what you're going through. Hang in there. Any questions or anything you want to talk about we're all here for you anytime!
