my 9yr old son has been fitting for 2 yrs.The docs have used words like landau kleffner and benign rolandic with spikes. He has had speech problems since the fits started.He is on epilim 500 and they gave him prednisolone (steroids)to help his speech which worked for a while till the steroids were stopped. They have now put him back on prednisolone ,epilim and a drug called zonegram(zonisimide). From the 1st day he took zonegram his voice went completely , we can not understand a word he says.His personality and facial expression also appears to have changed.Can anyone tell me about their experience with zonegram.I have expressed my concerns but the docs have told me to be patient...Are their any other drugs which have proven results in this sort of epilepsy. Thank you
