These started after mri with contrast dye, second night after. Never before. Usually get some sort of warning even though asleep to wake up to avert the seizure and stay awake a couple of hours. What I cant understand, is why always, every time, at around 2 am. No other time of night. Anyone have any experience or answers on this please?

" Yes! When my Epilepsy first came into my life, my seizures were always around 4am. Maybe our bodies are in a vulnerable stage in our sleep/wake cycle, and maybe our brainwaves are just right (or wrong, depending on your perspective) to allow a seizure. Don't really know for sure, but that's my guess. Now, my seizures come at anytime day or night... "

" My husband used to nearly always have seizures at night or immediately after waking. The waking ones were for sure due to that vulnerable stage between wake and sleep.

However, I do believe that the others in the middle of the night were due to his sleep partner (me). I am a restless sleeper, and turn over many times during the night. My husband is also a restless sleeper, if I am in the bed with him.

Some years ago, I bought twin beds because I myself had a medical problem and really, really needed a good night's sleep. I couldn't get it with my hubby, who kicked, grabbed and threw the blankets around in his sleep.

Getting the twin beds turned out to be good for both of us. I slept very well. Even better, I noticed that my husband slept deeply without waking all night, every night. He was no longer restless. AND, he no longer has nighttime seizures! The benefit of a good night's sleep! (He also doesn't have seizures upon waking.) "
