Hearing problems since taking drugs for epilepsy?

Hi all. I just wanted to see if any other people had developed any problems with their hearing since taking drugs for epilepsy.
Ever since I developed epilepsy after a brain haemorrhage 3 years ago I have taken Phenytoin and have repeatedly had problems with inner-ear blockage/infections. My right eardrum burst a couple of months ago & now my left inner-ear is blocked & I'm worried the same will happen to that. I'm now nearly off the Phenytoin & only presently take 150mg a day as I've switched to Keppra, but the ear problems are still there. Anyone else had similar problems? Posted on 05/15/08, 08:05 am |
