Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

Hi there! I'm new on this support group. Was only recently prognosed with temporal lobe epilepsy and I'm awaiting EEG results but after reading the symptoms just now I have to say that it describes the past few months very well.

I have not had full tonic-clonic seizures but I'm prone to illusions/hallucinations, deja vu, jamais vu, slight amnesia spells and enormous mood swings.

Who else has temporal lobe epilepsy and is there anything I should be mindful of?

" Hi! I have Catamenial Epilepsy with the activity in my left temporal lobe. It affects my higher math skills, and sometimes after I come out of a seizure, I have a hard time recognizing faces. Yes, Deja Vu is my aura, and I do have mood swings, but the mood swings might possibly be hormonal at this stage in my life- I'm 46 and in Peri-Menopause... "

" I think the main thing that effects me is when i get too stressed i end up getting very confused, not being able to get my words out quick enough, cant do maths etc.
However, i only have a main problem when i cant understand other people. I have only had 2 (touch wood) grand mals but that was bad enough

Hope everything goes well x "
