Was diagnosed four years back with BPH. Was worried at first but found, through research, that it is a normal occurence for older men.
While I welcome it as a part of growing older I don't like waking up 2-3 times a night to piss. Given the alternatives I'll stick with getting up. I don't subsribe to medications too much. I'll research it a lot before I'll commit. A lot of the meds prescribed for seniors have an impact on the liver. I'm not fond of that. While I do take some meds that affect the liver I closely watch what is occuring to it. I always request a liver function test for every blood test. If, at any point, I feel it's negatively impacting my liver function I'll quit. I'd like to get other senior mens opinion on this issue. Posted on 07/07/07, 08:07 pm |

I'm in the same boat up a lot at night. Don't take anything either. It is part of getting older I guess.
