I'm a member to the daily strength web site, as I have endo. My father has been dealing with an enlarged prostate, and I told him to try this web site to be able to speak to other men and ask questions. But he didn't want to do that, so here I'am asking for my father.
Please any and all information that you have about enlarged prostate please post it here, or message it to me. My father is just wanting to be able to use the restroom, and not have that awful feeling like he has to go really bad, and then only to have to strain to only pea a little bit, and sometimes nothing at all. thanks in advance!! Is he taking any meds right now ? How old is he? I am 48 and take Flomax and Avodart daily along with Saw Palmetto

I have problems with my prostate being enlarged or inflamed about every other month. I take two pills every night that help shrink my prostate. Does you dad takes meds, is he a Veteran?

Thanks for your replies. He's almost 60. He's been taking 2 kinds of pills, I can't remember the name of them. but they aren't helping much at all. If you have any other info, I'd appreciate you passing it on to me, or posting it in here.

hi im new to this group, i think my partner may have this condition but im not sure, he can pee ok, but he has terrible pain in his side and back right down to his lower groin, he is quite a heavy drinker but has recently almost gave up because he vomits very frequently its so bad now he can hardly keep food down, hes just turned 43, can anyone help me out here? Thank you

Sounds like he should see his Urologyst again. If his meds aren't working there's no point in taking them. I've been taking Avodart and Uroxathral for over a year now and I have a normal urine flow. Has he had his PSA checked? If not, he should. If it's above normal there's another reason to see a specialist.
