Prostoglandins and bowels, Inflammation

I just read a neat online thing about prostoglandins, as well as in this book I am reading. It explains that sometimes digestion problems, chronic inflammations, allergies, pelvic cramps etc. can be as a result of an imbalance of good and bad prostoglandins. Now, don't ask me what they are or how they work yet, because I haven't quite understood the medical terminology...but I am realizing that bowel problems (especially for people diagnosed with IBS) can often be controlled or treated by 1) surgical removal of endo - but also...2) certain drugs that change your prostoglandins. Again, I have no clue what they are or if they are effective, but it is sure worth a try!!
I will try to learnread more and ask a doctor when I see one, but it might explain why some of us have every test on earth (colonoscopies, barium swallows, x-rays, surgery to view the bowel etc.) and they never determine why our stomachs are so screwed up.
if you want to learn, maybe google 'prostoglandins and endometriosis' which is what I did.

" I just started on EVening Primrose Oil (I guess it is supposed to regulate prostoglandins). So I will let everyone know how it works. They say to limit other oils (fried food, trans fats etc.). "

" I read about it in "The Endometriosis Sourcebook" and then got more information from this website:
http://www.endo-resolved.com/prost...
That had a little info and explained it in easier terms. I am certain this is the cause of my bowel problems now and the doctor agreed yesterday I may be right (but she is a family dr. and not knowledgable about endo). "
