my obgyn says no to endo in my bowel
Watch this

So I talked with my obgyn Friday for a half hour. He said that it is too rare that I would have endo in my abdominal cavity/upper bowel/lungs.
What do you think about that? - because I got a second opinion and that obgyn said, "What--I have a patient who coughs up blood when she has her period because of the endo".....
So, why do docs think they know it all--because they don't--I realize they do the best they can, however......endo is not a joke---I would not wish it on my worst enemy if I had one.

" I do cough up blood on my period and i do have it in the lungs so your dr. does not know what he is talking about.

But i had to see 5 doctors before i found one that when i told him i had endo in the lungs ,he did not look at me like i was from another planet so keep on looking for a better doctor.I'm so happy i finally found a good one.

" Thank you for your coment. I hopefully did better than that for now...and went to a chiropractor this morning. He can help the symptoms, but cannot do another Lap, he did x-rays, so I will start there for tonight--when he reads my x-rays. Since having such back pain at the first day of my last period, having to catch my breath at night when I go to sleep--that's not my normal "anxiety", something is wrong....and all the other symptoms, the chiro was the first "doctor" who said, "I believe you"---when I told him how much discomfort and pain I am in---that I have never been in this much pain in my entire time on this earth.
God bless,
~Kristen "

" Could you elaborate further please? Why do you think that? Is the only way to find out if the endo IS in my belly is to do another laparoscopy????
It would seem so to me.....
Come one people, please chime in, I am narrowing down my abdominal pain, SOB, heart flutters (even on an anxiety med), back pain via MRI tomorrow, and colonoscopy.....ONCE I do....I have to go to SOME obgyn and say, "hey---I myself have been proactive and ruled out ALL other possibilities, what do I do now"?

What DO I do now?
DAMN "

" Try reading up on it and see if you can get more info. Maybe read as many endo books as you can (I find they have info doctor do not) and if you see similarities or things you think might be the cause, take the book into the doctor. Try reading "Living Well with Endometriosis" or even books specifically about abdominal endo. As for upper bowel or lung endo, I have read that it is not common, but certainly does happen to women with endo, if that helps.
Good luck! "

" My fiboids and endo had made my uterus the size of a bowling ball but even before it got that swollen and enlarged I was having bowl troubles becasue of the mass that was pushing against my bladder and other organs. (something to note; I had hoped to keep an ovary when i had my hyster. so i would not have to take hormones. MY dr. told me that if i keep an ovary that the endo would come back. He advised a full hyste. I asked why it will come back if i keep an ovary but not if i dont'. He said they do not know why. ) I want to share this info so you and others will be informed. I did not want an hysto and did several other types of treatments before I finally realized for me I was at the ends and I did not want to ruin my health by trying to keep a uterus that would not get well. It makes me so mad that there is not a cure. I hope you find wellness. "

" I have been to two specialist for endo. One of them told me that they have seen cases on endo forming in the brain. It is like a cancer that will attach itself to any place where there is red blood cells. I had endo lesions burned off of my liver. So it is possible that you could have it in your lungs. Its rare, but possible and NO DOCTOR should rule it out.
Keep me posted on how you are doing!! "

" I had a huge mass of endo that was actually POKING out of my belly button! My doctor initially told me it was a hernia, and we only discovered it was endo when I had the surgery to fix what we thought was the hernia! My doc said that while it is very rare to have endo up that high, there are cases where women have endo in their heart, lungs, and brain! I would definitely see another doctor as quickly as possible. Good luck - I hope you find some relief soon! "
