I just had my 2nd lap done and was told my scar tissue was very near my bowel. Right after my 1st and now after my 2nd I have the worst shooting stabbing pain before I go. Once I go the sharp pain goes away but I still feel a little pain. This is due to scar tissue around my bowl area. I was told it isn't on my bowel but near it. Who knows, the pain is coming from somewhere. Maybe I am still healing. Everything in your system is so close together. I was given this thing they call a screen to block the new tissue from attaching to any other organs. I hope it works.

i have really bad pain and some times cant go at all.
i have had this alot longer than i knew i had endo.
that was one of my main worrie when i used to go doctors. they said it was ibs make me laugh now at how crap they where.
i get blocked bowel once a month. it makes me feel so ill, and the pain is like child birth.
no doctors care after all they only have 10minute slots for you.
dont know what to say i have no faith in health care.
i always geel alone and just try my best to deal with it.

Ladies, the symptoms that you're describing sound like you might have bowel endo (that's what I have as well). If that is the case - you need a bowel surgery. You should really talk to your doctor about it as well as to see a bowel surgeon.

Curious, how do you find a bowel surgeon? What is the specialist (medical) name?

I know I have bowel endo because i got the surgery report from last year. I know it's worse otherwise why would I be more terrible pain.

Endo messes with my bowels all the time. When I have my period it hurts all through my bottom and using the toilet to go #2 is very painful. It feel like there's needles in my bottom.

ok----now I am truly stumped. I wonder if this endo IS affecting the fact that near my period my BM's really really hurt--I have a small hemhorroid BUT it hurts all over the pelvic region....then after my period ends--it subsides for a few weeks rest --thank heavens. Now, my friend gets something called "iliac' which is literally when her bowels stop moving--could be similar here.
How can we tell if the endo is on our bowels? My laps or myself was never told I had actual bowel blockage from the endo just endo ON the bowel--is that the same? Like I said, I'm stumped...what concerns me is that if we need bowel surgery--there is a great risk of bowel preforation ya know.....:| yikes!!!!!!!

My uterus and bowel was fused together with adhesions and the lesions were able to attach to the bowel. I would ses your RE first and maybe the RE and Gastronologist can consult with eachother. That's what my RE did.
All endo suffers who have had endo on or near the bowel are at risk of a bowel obstruction which can be fatal. Eat lots of fiber, take Colace, and keep an enema nearby in case of emergencies.

adhesions of the bowel definitely cause MAJOR digestion problems. Check out the endo diet and I have found no wheat/eggs or dairy really eliminates some of that. However, I have now read that endo in the 'cul de sac' causes bowel problems for some reason. I had surgery in 2006 and since then m y bowels have gone from bad to worse. I think surgery makes them worse personally.....I can barely go to the bathroom or eat anything and lost 40 lbs since the surgery...

Where did you read about endo in the cul de sac? I believe that is where my dr said I have some endo and scar tissue at on my right side. I have been having steadily difficult times with my digestive system and with going to the bathroom. I will get constipated for days at a time, then get cleaned out for one day, then back to constipated the next for days. I went to a GI specialist who told me to take Metamucil - this killed me. I had worse constipation and was MISERABLE!!! I am following the endo diet as strictly as I can, and now I am working with a wellness person to get supplements of fiber to help. So far, it's still a struggle, but I keep swearing that this is related to my endo and surgery and I am wondering about the cul de sac.

Seriously, as long as I am having BM's, I won't worry too much, but does anyone else get where at the last day or two at the end of their period, it is brown like feces?? and it makes me sick looking at it on the toilet paper, and makes me wonder if it IS feces, and if there has been a puncture in the bowel or a "leak" that is going through my body's bloodstream? like we all have been talking about??? THAT worries me.
***Where is the endo diet? Anywhere online?? Interersting---because I eat LOTS of dairy, ice cream, Starbucks.
I can relate, after my last lap in 2006, removal of the endo in the cul-de-sac, I have had more pain ever, after a while, when the doc said, "this surgery will help temporarily"
JanicMV - my surgeon told me about the endo in the cul-de-sac, and previous problems before i knew i had endo, ultrasounds showed "masses there on me. Do you have pain on your right side when you have a bowel movement, especially when you are on your period? It upsets me how the doctors do not fully understand endo some do not--i didn't say all :) The cul-de-sac is VERY tiny and that can cause a lot of problems with endo:(----from what I hear.....

Yeah, diary, wheat and eggs are a no no for us with endo and bowel problems.
Read "Living Well with Endometriosis" and google 'endometriosis diet'. There is lots to learn to help us besides surgery and drugs!
