I am having a big struggle with depression due to my endometriosis medications. I am currently taking lupron, depro, and evista. My doctor prescribe effexer xr to help with the mood swings. I am up to 300mg and still no help. I also have panic attacks from all this. Most of the people I know, don't understand what I am going throug, so I feel like I am going through this alone. I keep thinking that this will never get better and is all of this worth it? Has anyone had to deal with all this? If so how do you get through it?

" I would watch effexor - they put me on it and I discovered it causes major weight gain. I gained 30 lbs in one year! They tried Wellbutrin with me as well, which didn't get rid of the anxiety etc.
oddly, the best ani-anxiety stuff I have ever taken is to take calcium/magnesium and Vit D before bed. It got rid of depression for me for the first time in 15 years! "

" I couldn't tolerate all the side effects - I somehow managed to suffer from all the serious ones. Lucky me. I never got better on the synthetic hormones - but there are some women who do have some luck on them.

Don't feel bad about having problems. You aren't alone.

Look at how you feel. Do you feel as though there is any change - or that you are merely suffering more? I would weigh what you are actually getting to the side effects to see if it is worth it. Most doctors say you have to give the synthetic hormone therapy six months. If you feel up to that, then keep going. They have you on a lot of different drugs at one time. Perhaps discussing with your doctor limiting or discontinuing some in favor for others might be helpful.

Personally, I use a bio-identical Progesterone cream with great sucess. My body stabalized for the first time in years after I started taking it.

B vitamins are really good for stress. It has been found in more recent studies that people who are depressed, in chronic pain, etc. don't have the necessary levels of B vitamins in their system. Thes vitamins help with coping mechanisms and stress. They can also help with your metabolism and supply energy and help burn off your food. Chromium is another good one - it levels out your blood sugar so you don't feel hunger and helps you feel like you are actually alive. "
