I'm sorry your having such a hard time. I'm not a single parent but I still get lonely for my kids. The things we used to do together. It does get better. Maybe if you took a class in something that you have always wanted to but couldn't because of your kids. Now you can do what you want when you want. I really like that part of no kids at home. I can take off and do what I want. My husband and I have gotten closer, that was really strange at first. I promise it gets easier, I'm looking forward to grandkids, so I can spoil them and send them home! And I care. God Bless Kel

I can understand what you're going through. I'm a single mom. My son is 18 and is starting college. For me, it's not a clean break as he is living at home. However, we used to be close, we traveled quite a bit, and hung out alot. Now, I'm lucky if I see him once a week for a meal, and he's very quiet about his life. I know this is what is supposed to happen, although it's heartbreaking for me and very lonely. I do care about you and can totally relate.

Hi!
I too find it hard to adjust.I have a friend who is a bit older (and experienced) who says to remain flexible and adaptable during this new life phase.Well, I agree it is certainly a new phase.I miss my three eldest who basically all moved out at the same time, last year.I am trying to focus on my youngest, 15, at home and seek new ways to find friends and projects. What interests you? What do you enjoy??I'd love to know. M.

Hi, I understand how you feel. My youngest is at college, and I have been very lonely. I recently got a puppy that has made me feel a little better. It is nice to have the puppy to come home to, etc... It is a difficult adjuetment.
