I have hip pain that comes and goes, but when it's here it's a killer. Along with having other EDS symptoms, my main issue is that my hips pop out of socket. Does anyone else experience this type? If so have you been treated for it and how?

Yep - mine do that, just like every other joint I own. Got one out right now that doesn't want to go back in right now, for some reason. I did some dancing last weekend, and may have torqued it a little more than usual.
I've never been treated for it. I finally figured out I can (usually) sit up straight with my knees together, hands palms together between my knees. Hands push outward while squeezing knees together. That usually makes it pop back into place. The key SEEMS to be rolling the thigh bones slightly back toward the center to get them to settle right again. I guess you could mess around with it and see if it works that way for you?

my hips do this often, in most cases i get my parents to take me to hospital to get them relocated, its the only way for me, luckly i have a hospital which is beginning to understand eds. at last!! not that its easy on the ortho's who have refused to elp me several times till i finally made a folder on eds which i give to all new doctors of mine so they know what they are dealing with, it helps in many ways. hmm i've gone off topic, sorry about that, my point...i go to hospital to get them relocated because i am unable to do it myself anymore

Can you tell me how they do that? I mean, what the procedure is like. I've never done more than just pop my own back into place, and only figured that out by accident.

well they generally give you happy gas (nitrase (SP??) and pain killers and then once the gas and pain killers set in they will have one or two people holding you down and another pulling at your leg, they will get orthos to do this, and they will take before and after x-rays. sometimes when they cant get it in like that they will take you up to theatre and do it under local, but i've only had that happen once, and you stay in crutches for a week or so depending on how bad the dislocation is. hope that helped, in some small way

Thanks for the explanation. I asked because mine seem to be popping out more often and not going back as easily lately. Never had it get to the point where I couldn't walk at all - just hurts like the devil when I do, that's all.
