Just wanted to know if anyone has any information about the possible overlapping of these two conditions? I have done alot of reading in the last while and there seems to be mixed feedback about whether they are re-classifying Hypermobility Syndrome as Hypermobility type EDS. Thoughts anyone?

" I just got diagnosed with EDS 3. The proffessor R grahame at the University college London told me that there is still a lot of overlapping and that there is relitivly little known about either EDS and HMS. he said that they often appear to be the same.

hey if the top man in the UK doesnt know then i wouldnt worry yourself too much. he has written books you might want to google him. I am just at the beginning of the journey. wish you well x "

" From what I've found... EDS 3 and HMS can be considered the same thing... Accept EDS can be more serious because it doesn't just affect the joints (thus, the Hypermobile Syndrome) EDS is a connective tissue disorder that can affect anything in the body made up of connective tissue.
