What is the dumbest thing anyone has said to you in support of your recovery? We did this on the depression boards and the results had me crying with laughter. PLEASE don't read on if you think it might upset you.

" Ah, Jann. I had a psychiatrist tell me that I wasn't all that bad because I was only 15 pounds underweight. Yeah, she was an absolute IDIOT, and I'm still searching for another psychiatrist. I refuse to go back to her. "

" My Dad told me that "Ramtha the enlightened one" spoke to him and that I should leave treatment and move to Washington where I could find a place to go through my past and realize the body is just an illusion. It wasn't exactly "dumb" he's just not well. "

" OMG, yeah, my mum also said 'it can't be that bad, you only need to gain 7lbs to be in your weight range......cheers mum! Oh and 'it would make me happy if you ate this' and 'i've had to put up with so much illness from people over the years', ok, so i'll just 'be better' sorry about that! 'You need to eat some pies' from a random janitor at a school, 'get over it and eat' from my stbxh and 'just force yourself to eat' from my best mate, who at least had the sense to retract it straight away.....ny ither best friend who admitted to nearly biting off her own tongue when before i had admitted to her my ED but she suspected it she accidently said 'don't lose any more weigh or you'll look anorexic'. Oh and a doctor who said 'try adn eat more calories' - oh, yeah, that's where i have been going wrong! Bless them though, i think they do MEAN well! "
