" I would assume bc bulimia is not healthy. Ive known a few bulimics and like karrin said they are usually a tiny bit overweight.

I am battling binging right now, and Im 20 pounds overweight, altho I dont purge.

20pounds isnt really a big deal (or thats what Im trying to tell myself) Is it worth destroying your health and life over?

Im not sure ! I want it off so bad but I cant ruin myself so Im trying to work on being content right now...

I wish you luck ! "

" i have been bulimic for 13 years.I am slightly underweight, only by a few pounds. the reason why it's difficult for bulimics to stay thin is because purging does not rid the stomach of all the food consumed. after a purge it is common to retain up to 50% of the food. "

" Hi,

Most bulimics are slightly above their normal weight or slightly under. It depends entirely on the persons behaviors, some bulimics over exercise and don't vomit, which can make them slightly over weight as muscle is heavier than fat or slightly under as they have very lean muscles and low body fat, some bulimics who vomit and use laxatives tend to be normal to slightly over weight as they do not purge the entire contents of their stomach and there are days where they binge and do not purge, there are also bulimics who binge and restrict and don't vomit as much and they can be underweight also as they spend a lot of time fasting etc, there are bulimics who have a mixture of all of it, so it really depends on the person and their behavior.

One thing i am learning, its not really what you weigh which matters so much its how you are treating your body, you could be 50lbs over weight but vomiting daily and you will still end up seriously ill, the risks are there no matter your weight.

If you need to talk, add me, i've been bulimic for a little over 14 years now and i have just started treatment so i am here for you if you need someone to talk to.

Hugs xx "
