Stuff I didn't know: (Info supplied by Solstice Neuroscience)
+ it takes visits to 5 doctors and 7 years for an accurate diagnosis
+ 65% get mental disorders like drug or alcohol addiction, severe depression, and about 25% have suicidal thoughts (WOW! my reaction)
+ between half a million and a million people suffer from ST--almost as many as Parkinson's
+meds can range from anti-depressants, anti-nausea agents, anti-anxiety agents, anticonvulsants, etc.
+ there are two types of botox-both type A and type B (I used both, but B is usually used by people who develop problems with type A)
+ preferred surgical procedures not a first choice for treatment (RE: C. William Britt, board certified neurologist and dystonia specialist), include: selective denervation, and deep brain stimulation.
