My son has possible Dyslexia as well as diagnosed ADHD but I have been informed that he has to fall 2 years behind his peers before they will test him for Dyslexia. I feel his problems are big enough without we allow him to fall that far behind has anyone else come accross this? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to my next steps?

" It you are talking about the school system here, I think you would be in a position to bring this case to the attention of the local authority education body.

All the evidence shows that the earlier you seek to give extra tuition tailored to the learning difficulties associated with dyslexia the more positive the benefit will be. "

" I was told the same thing when I was at school, 'you can't get help your not bad enough' or 'we don't have the funding' its rubbish. My advice is don't take no for an answer keep asking, pushing and eventually they will do something. "
