I went to a nutrition store who had Kudzu. They said its an herb for your stomach. What is in Kudzu that helps with vertigo? Thank you.

I haven't tried it, but I did a little research on it. Kudzu may increase serotonin levels in the brain and also can have beta-blocker type effects. I know that people with migraine associated vertigo are treated with antidepressants (which raise serotonin levels) and with beta blockers. It seems plausible that it could help those with migraine associated vertigo. I don't know about other causes.

I've been taking kudzu for nearly two weeks now and I feel great..no dizzies. I'm a long time sufferer with vertigo. In fact, my daily spells leave me pretty much dysfuncional with two small boys to raise. I bought the kudzu in pill form and have been feeling great ever since. In my research with a vitamin book it states that kudzu is used for the treatment of colds, flu, the lowering of blood pressure, vertigo and tinnitus. If your suffering, like I was, just go get it and try it. I think you'll be surprised with the results. I take one 150 mg pill every morning and so far I have my old life back.

I have been taking Kudzu for a few days now and so far have not noticed any difference in my dizziness symptoms. ONE IMPORTANT THING to be aware of is that you should not mix Kudzu Root with certain prescription medications (mostly blood pressure ones) or GINGKO BILOBA. I thought this was fairly significant as many vertigo sufferers take Gingko on a regular basis - apparently the combination of the two can be adverse to blood clotting. For now I've stopped taking the Gingko while I'm experimenting with the Kudzu...

Kelstar,
you mentioned about not taking Ginko Biloba with Kudzu Root. Where did you get this info about the blood clotting? I am currently taking both herbs!!!

I can't remember where I read that about Kudzu and Gingko, as it was almost a year ago that I was looking up information on it...but it was definitely somewhere online. I'm not sure how relevant that post was though, if it's not more widely reported...in any case I found the Kudzu had no affect, positive/negative, on my vertigo, so once finished the dosage I didn't resume taking it and went back to Gingko Biloba :)

do you know if it helps with vertigo and dizziness because of sinus problems and too much fluid in the ears? thanks :-)

I'm not sure if it's the sinuses/ear fluid it affects or what, all I know is it's supposed to help with vertigo somehow....I doubt it would help as a decongestant as it's just a herb, but not sure...
