Hey everybody, I feel that I have become the dizzy specialist. I am 36 and have been dizzy most of my lie--27 years...mostly the rocky, floaty on a boat feeling but I get many other sx as well. Just in the last couple of years I have been
learning what is causing my issues. I definitely recommend an otolaryngologisy that specializes in dizziness that is where the help for me started. I learned that both of my inner ears have low function. They found this by doing a hot/cold water caloric test. This is a MISERABLE exam, it makes you dizzier than ever but it can be helpful in diagnosing. They also believe that I have vestibular migraines so they sent to a neurologist who is wonderful...he is integrative and has me doing a vitamin regime. In the process of everything I found out I have PLMD which is like restless leg syndrome so I don't
sleep well which ofcourse compounds all of my problems. My doctor also says I have severe motion intolerance (you think? lol) But he says thats a condition as well. I am an RN, part of the reason I became a nurse was to figure out my helath issues! Unfortunately, I can't function well so I am not able to work like I want to. I have actually just applied for disability which I should have done years ago....the only meds I am taking is
Klonopin .25mg, just started it 2 weeks ago. They think it will help the migraines and
sleep issues and maybe alleviate some vertigo. I am happy to help anyone out there that is struggling because I know how lonely and scary this can be...it has been a tough road. I am also very convinced that alot of this dizziness is caused by neuropathways that are not functioning and that by using integrative medicine and nurition, this can help to alleviate and maybe eliminate sx. I think our diets are very poor and our bodies lack essential nutrients to function normally. Right now I am supplementing with Vit B12, RIboflavin,
Monavie and soon will start
Magnesium and Co enzymeQ10. The neurologist has me adding one new supplement per week. Please let me know if I can help you all in anyway. I am so glad to have found this group! ;) Anyone out there on disability?
