I just found this group today.

As a child, I didn't have any vertigo warnings. I had weird spots when I ate citrus, and I always had weird earaches.
As a teen, I would get dizzy and they thought it may be a sugar problem. Nope, but the tests made me worse (the drink sugary orange drink tests).
I tried eating healthier (more fruits) and it got worse.

SO... Jan of 2006 I had strange feelings of anxiety on the inside (like i often had) and my body was just exhausted. I sat down and fell asleep I guess. As soon as I woke, I tried to stand and had the dizziness. I sat back down to wait it out, but it got worse. Within 2 minutes I knew something was wrong. I barely made it up the stairs and thought I was having a stroke or something- I knew it was in my head. I blindly called on the phone for help.

The ER nurse treated me like a teen overdosing until my pee test came out clean. She yelled at me and gave me meds without telling me what they were- and then yelled at me for saying I had allergies to certain medicines. My son and my mom were there luckily and they changed their tune after a while.

So I had the vertigo for a straight month- ouch. It was caused by an extreme citrus allergy (oranges and pineapple mostly) that caused blockages in my inner ears.

Has anyone else had vertigo brought on by foods? I cannot even get near these citrus fruits anymore. It sucks.
My son has the same spots I did with citrus. My dad and my sister too. My dad has had vertigo, but my son and sister are still very young. My sister is now in her 20's and has been having the dizzy feelings.

Not only is it weird allergies, it also seems inherited.
I also just read that grass allergies are brought out when people eat raw fruits and veggies- such as vertigo and stuffed up-ness.

Okay- sorry this is so long. I just never had anyone to listen before except the doctors.
