20 Years with Dizziness

Hi all...newbie here.

Just thought I'd like to add my story.

28 years old and my husband and I were on a short vacation in the poconos. Sat up one morning in bed and the room just spun around for about two minutes. I was terrified..thought I had a brain tumor or stroke. This was just the beginning of my struggle with dizziness for the past 20 years. I have been to every Dr you can imagine and no one can tell me what's wrong me. This disorder has led to severe depression, extreme anxiety and panic attacks and post traumatic stress disorder.
I am now 49 and I do have times when I feel okay but I have to be very careful how I live my life. No overdoing in anyway in any part of my life. One note..I did have encephalitis when I was 13 and have always wondered if this has been the underlying cause. It's been a rough life to say the least but I raised three children and now have on grandchild. Stress in my life really sets off an attack. This July was a good month for me but last winter/spring were pretty bad. It has affected most aspects of my life. I haven't really had a full time job. My husband and family are very supportive...they have all seen how sick I can get. I've recently went through a gauntlet of tests again..and still the Drs are baffled. They can find nothing. I don't know...it's just become something I have had to live with. God Bless all of you....I understand.

" Have they talked about meneirs desease? My problems began after an illness. It can also be triggered by a impact to your head. Unfortunatley this is not curable but is treatable or so they tell me. I went to a specialist in portland oregon who specializes in dizzyness. He is the one who finally diagnosed me. hope this helps a little. "

" WELCOME Wildflower! I hate being dizzy. For me, the room totally flips. One day I felt like the couch went right up over my head! I was so scared. I had a barrage of testing done and they "think" maybe inner ear? my tmj? but nothing really conclusive.
It is SO dang scary! I can get months off and then WHAM out of nowhere, like last week. I was making my morning coffee the the kitchen just started to spin. It IS hard. I wish I knew exactly what was causing mine too.
Bless you all!
