I had surgery a year ago. No insurance has kept me from going back for my colonoscopy. In the last month I've eaten better but not as much fiber.

Anyhoo its been 7 days since I've gone to the bathroom and so much pain. Like the pain I had. Im not bleeding but so worried.

I went around 6 months before with a tear in my colon and didn't know it.

Is 7 days normal? I've taken laxatives and drank water by the gallon and added fiber...still nothing. What goes in must come out right?

Dont have the money for more docs and bills but how much longer till I explode.......

" If you can't afford to see a Doc, how will you afford a trip to the ER and emergency surgery? Constipation is a classic sign of diverticulitis, colon cancer, and ... a host of other things. "

" You must contact some medical professional. In most towns there are free services available to those in need. Try calling your local hospital for suggestions on who to call, maybe the county health dept. but ignoring a possible bowel obstruction could lead to many very serious health conditions and devastating financial and health problems. I had my surgery 1.5 years ago (Nov. 06), I been there, but I would do anything to avoid another NG tube even if it meant going to doc without insurance. I hope you find a way to see the doc.

" Seven days, ouch! How about ALL LIQUIDS for a day or two? Choose liquids with nutritional value (Slim Fast/Instant Breakfast/V8Juice and soup.) And by all means, search in your city/country for a place where you can go for a nominal charge for a doctor/medical care ASAP. Hope you are okay....my best to you. "

" Seven Days is TOO long honey. I agree that you should go to a liquid only diet until this is resolved. Have you ever taken probiotics? It is a great thing to be on for everyone but for those of us who have diverticulitis -- it is a great idea.
Please at least call the local hospital and ask for advice before this gets more serious. This is dangerous honey.
