i have diverticulitis, and have always had severe diareah(spelt wrong). for the last couple of days i cant go, i no this souns disgusting but its so hard it wont come out, i am also bleeding. i do sometimes lose blood anyway, which i believe is a symtom of the condition. i wondered if anybody else has had this, i dont want to go to my dr with this as im so embarassed, because if he looked down there he would see it prodruding.ive tried lactolose but nothing. please help any advice would be lovely. at present my grandmother is in hospital after a flare up of diverticulitis and i think mine could be stress related. thanks love donna

I think you can buy enemas at the drug store. Or just try and get warm water in there.... Good luck.

I can sure sympathize...the only thing I've found to help is eating lots of bran and drinking 8 glasses of water a day. The bran softens the stool and the water is needed to make it work. I also eat a few prunes at bedtime. Hope this helps. Carolyn
