Random Eating

I'm not the worlds most organized person, this bleeds over into my eating habits. Sometimes I eat breakfast, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I eat lunch, sometimes I don't. Most often, I never eat at the same time each day. I don't plan my meals, I don't count my carbs/calories I don't even count how many meals I have in a day. More often than not, I go a whole day eating 1 meal and then at night snaking (especially carbs). I think the trick might be in having an organized life to organize when I eat, but this seems harder to me than exercising. Any tips.

" Yeah, it'd probably help you to spread out your meals more - keep your metabolism going and whatnot. You don't have to set everything in stone, though. I eat 1200 calories a day and I just try to make sure I'm eating a reasonable amount of calories every 2-3 hours. Not sure how great of an idea that is, but it's not super hard to plan and stick to. If my diet was something like 'Eat 20 almonds and a small garden salad for lunch at 2:00' I would never be able to stick to it. I just make it up as I go along and make sure I stay under my limit. "

" due to travel/hectic work - every now and then I find myself forced into the same situation (even though I'm normally really organized) ... I avoided going over board - was to pick what I'd eat for the day the night before ... regardless of when I ate - I'd pull from that "pile" (Actually - I put a it all in a big zip lock in the fridge. When the pile was gone - I was done.
If I got home and wanted something different from dinner - then I'd swap to suit my tastebuds - but still tried to keep to the cals.

The challenge is sticking to the discipline of preparing the night before. "

" Preparing meals ahead of time works very well for me. Having the healthy foods I prefer with me reduces the temptation to stop at a restaraunt or fast food place. "
