i am new to the daily strenght website and need a few buddies that have alot of weight to lose. my first goal is to lose 20 pounds. i have been above 200 for the past 6 or 7 years. My ultimate goal is 130-140 about a size 8-10. currently i am 5'3 and 219 pounds.

If so here is what I suggest. 1: Write down everything you eat for 2 weeks. Take a look and see what habits are there. 2: Drink more water- work up to 4-5 liters a day. 3: Try portion controling- see what a 1/2 cup of rice looks like. 4 ounces of meat looks like. It's likely you are eating much more of each of these. Just by doing these 3 things I lost 20 pounds (from 240). Now I'm adding exercise and rededicating to these 3 ideas.

I definitely could use a few people here to talk to.
I am 5'1" and 186 pounds. I put on 60 pounds in less than a year! I hate that when I check my BMI (body mass index) it classifies me as OBESE! That was one of the harshest reality-checks, second only to when I went to the doctor and my blood sugar and cholesterol were high! I am 26 years old and I'm at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.... Yikes~! Right now I am on Alli, which overall is good in terms of monitoring portion control and eating healthy meals but in terms of motivation, it's hard because if you don't work out you wont lose any weight. I have slipped up a few times, but overall I think its a good approach to eating healthy and I just need to be more active!

I know your situation! Order the Little Black Book Daily Food Diary to record what you eat, it fits in your purse and is elegant looking. You will carry it everywhere which increases success. Also, remember, the most universal serving size is about the size of a tennis ball. For 1 oz. of say cheese, is approx. the size of four dice. A medium (3” dia.) apple is about 100 calories. Or, 1 tsp. is the tip of the thumb 1T. is a thumb fr knuckle to the tip 2-3oz. is a small palm (or tennis ball) 3-4 oz. is a large palm ½ cup is similar to a cupped hand 1 cup is similar to a fist (they show a woman’s hand of healthy weight) I am so glad to run across you! you know i am a 5'2, 215 pounder i am not suppost to though but i have pcos and i know that it will be hard to lose so i am getting more assistance and went above and beyond and will see a doctor tomorrow to get some pills to help in losing weight..
