I just joined this community today. I was born was polycystic kidneys, and they failed in 2002. I then went on dialysis and was on it for 5 years, and was also on the transplant list. I finally got a kidney last June, 2006. I was sick for a couple of months, but now I feel good.

Just wanted to check in and see who you all are. Come on back...

" Hi Carol, I'm Shells and I've had kidney failure for 17 years. I was on dialysis for 6 months, then received a transplant from my dad and it lasted 10 years. I went back on dialysis in 2000 and been on it ever since! Congrats on your new kidney! Your first year anniversary is coming up, I see. Love the pic of your dog, I looove dogs! I have had FSGS for 7 years and was on dialysis for 3 months, received a kidney from my dad which lasted about 8 mths... went back on dialysis for a year and had another transplant from a cadaver which lasted me 15 months then went back on dialysis and have been on it for about 18 months and am curently listed at UC Davis Med Center... Welcome to the group... it is always nice to hear from another patient who is doing well "
