I have been reading alot about home hemo.Just wondering if anyone has any information on it.I'm on pd but 5 exchanges every 4 hours.Takes a tole after awhile.

I am starting Home Hemo next month with the Nexstage machine. The training has been straightforward so far. I will be doing 2.5 hrs, 6x week.

I have been doing home hemo with nxstage since Jan of this year. I love it!! I do 2 hours a day 6 days a week. Ask your dialysis center what is available in your area. It makes you feel alot better and more independent.

Considering I watch TV a couple of hours a day normally at the same hour of the day it seems like a natural.
I intend to do it if I can and if I return to dialysis.

I was just asked to consider Nxstage home hemo I have been trying to determine the pros and cons . I have not been able to come up with a con other than my wife is deathly afraid of needles and the sight of blood. I am excited about the potential freedom from the treatment center and fixed schedule that it offers . I am going to start training in june. Those of you that are already started , can you give me some feedback to help my decision and to help my wife get past her fear.

On nocturnal home hemo for almost 2 years now. Its much better than going to the unit and I feel better than the 4 hours X 3 times a week. My home treatment is 2 nights on and 1 night off cycle. Its still dialysis and I will be going for another transplant at some point. I am very interested in stem cell research applied to tansplantation as timing could be critical.
