Yum! I know the chocolate ones are really good. But can diabetics have those. I heard chocolate is really bad for us.

Yo alidaf??? lots of things are bad for us Especially not using common sense, 100 calorie packs are a helpful tool, eat 10 & it kinda defeats the purpose -u get the idea

I haven't heard anything about chocolate being bad for us, although they say dark chocolate is better because it's more or an anti-toxidant. I enjoy a little chocolate now and then because if i didn't, i'd go bonkers, lol lol lol. I haven't seen the hostess cakes, but up here in Canada we have a snack cake line that is 100 calories -- i think it's the same company as owns hostess. They have Mae West cakes, Joe Louis cakes, Ah Caramel cakes, Carrot cakes.... you get the drift. They are quite good too... and i wouldn't recommend eating 10 or them. Good for a little treat in the lunch bag though. Hugs and kisses, Deb :0)

Chocolate in reasonable amounts is allowable as it has a low glycemic index. Unfortunately, that is because it is high in fat.

When I am hurting for a treat of some kind I have found the Weight Watchers cakes are a good thing to take the edge off.Laughed the first time I saw them..figured out immediatly by the size how they keep the numbers down lol.
Ah well..as I said they DO take the edge off as do the single (dark) Aero bars.

The whole idea is to eat just one pack to satisfy your chocolate and sweet craving. There's 3 tiny cupcakes in each pack and it makes you think you're eating more. And you're right, happy2lose, the carrot cakes are great too. I alternate between them and the chocolate.

But do they resemble carrot cake in any meaningful way? I mean, the real deal has big chunks of carrot and bigger chunks of walnut, and the original 70s version oozes oil when you cut into it with a fork. I associate Hostess with light-as-air, tasteless spun lard.

They are very small, about an inch and a half in diameter and 1/2 inch thick, but they do have a carrot cake texture and taste. They even have icing on them. Granted, they're not as tasty as real carrot cake, but they're a good substitute.

i love all the 100calorie snacks especially the pecan sandies,my favorite cookie. My kids did not like the oreos ones though. they like the cakes though. My hubby and i are both diabetics so we try and limit their sweets and calories. these are perfect
