I've just been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, and my doctor has put me on Metformin. I'm still building the dosage I need to take, and am experiencing the horrible side effects that come with this drug.

Does anyone else take Metformin?

Did you experience the "not-so-nice" side effects?

If so, how long did they last before your body became accustomed to it?

" I have been in metformin for almost 4 years now. I was taking 500 MG x 2, but just last week, my dosage was changed to 1000 MG x 2. The only real side effect I have had with the increase is nausea. I had the same thing when I first started to take it so I will just wait it out. I also have the terrible gas that goes with it. Otherwise, it has worked nicely for me all these years. I have never had any problem with bottoming out. "
