Boy, reading everyone posts it seems we all are doing medication changes.

My doctor has had me on glyburide for awhile and now I am taking the max dosage a day possible. So, two weeks ago she had me go on metformin too and my blood sugar numbers shot up - like 50 to 60 points!! So, she had me stop that. Yesterday I went in and she says that she was starting me on Actos today and would adjust my glyburide and then because of my finances she is seeing if the company that makes byette will put me on paitient's assitance.

Today I have taken the actos and following my diet, etc and now my blood sugar is down in the 90's and I am feeling strange - like my finger tips and lips are tingling too - I have never had that before.

This concerns me about the byetta since it is an injectable I asked the doctor if there are side effects how long do they affect a person being that the are injected - the doctor said up to a month. Low blood sugar or other symptoms I don't want, and especially in May for my son's graduation, and all is in May!

Maybe I am just a baby - but all these medications kind of is scary for it is controlling how your body works.

" I agree -- I'm on glipizide and just also started Januvia. I've tried nearly everything else, with nasty side effects. When you're diabetic it seems everything revolves around the meds and what they do -- and which is worse, the high blood sugar or the side effects. But fwiw, as long as it doesn't incapacitate you, maybe you could learn to deal with it -- low sugar is so much better for you than the high and there are products you can carry with you for when your sugar drops that are very effective. The change in feelings is scary, I know! I wish you good luck with this. "
