Tanning and Metformin?

I just paid for two weeks unlimited tanning. Tanned my first time in years for 4 minutes. Itched all over until I could get home and shower. Read on the internet that taking Metformin can cause you to burn easily. I'm thinking about trying it again at 2 or 3 minutes to start. Being tan isn't my point...it feels good (or used to) to tan. Anybody else had this experience?

I had been on Metformin for about 6 months when I spent a few weeks in the Maldives. Didn't have any problems with tanning or burning, and that was taking exactly the same precautions as before(SF15 and only gradually increasing exposure to the sun as time went on). Your reaction to UV probably has more to do with your complexion etc. None of the support paperwork I was given with the Metformin tabs mentioned anything about increased sensitivity to the sun. Hopefully your reaction was a 'one-off' =:o)
