" Just be there for him. Help him with his diet. Try different food combinations with him. A diabetic diet is just really good eating without the junk food and sugar. Be there when he takes his BS readings and encourage him when they're good and say you'll help him when they're bad. he's luck to have someone who cares with him. Who knows, maybe you'll get some benefits too. And don't be scared. Just concerned. "

" Things I think would help:
1. have fresh fruit and veggies every day, less bread & sweets.
2. get active together: walk the dog, wash the car, walk around Walmart, anything you enjoy.
3. keep low carb and low calorie snacks: read labels!
4. remember it is a lot of work & some days are tough and he just won't feel well.
5. There are lots of places on the net to get educated. Read about his medicines and side effects, and learn what to do for highs and lows.

I think it is just great that you want to be more helpful....keep it up! "
