I had the real flu for 10 days with fever. I had the best blood sugars ever. Now that I am well I am back to those mornings where my blood sugar races to see how high it can get before I corral it. It was not food intake as that has not changed. Any suggestions

" You ate the same with the flu? Anytime I've been sick like that my food intake changes drastically to include mostly soups or light meals (if you want to call them meals). Well if it wasn't that, then it just goes to show how differently our bodies can react to others. When I was sick just before my surgery 2 years ago I too had the best blood sugars ever and I was in so much pain I literally thought I was going to die and the Drs would figure out what was wrong after I died. So it really goes to show not all of us have the same responses with our blood sugars. "

" Just keep upwith your meds. It is just amazing this system we have and how it changes. It could be that by you being sick with a fever all your defenses were on full alert.
Just a guess. "

" That's interesting, my BS almost always goes up when I have a virus. Ask your MD. "

" Were you taking any antibiotics for your fever? From the Dr? I found when i was taking pennicilin for my teeth, i had the best sugar levels i've ever had EVER!!! And i didn't even have to try. I was so sad when i ran out of the meds... ;0) Maybe that was it. Just an idea. Deb :0) "
