The Dr. just prescribed this for me today.
I've read all the info packet, but would like some honest opinions of this medication. Has anyone experienced too low bs during the night from this? That's what scares me. He's putting me on this because usually I spike during the night - high - and wake up high. And should I take it before I eat breakfast? This is all new to me and it's scary. I'm taking it and I'm pretty happy with it, especially because I've already had to lower the dose twice. Only your MD can tell you what times of day to take it. It goes into the bloodstream VERY slowly, not quite as slowly as the 24-hour kind, but it's great for overnight. It's really helping with my morning highs.

Hi
I take levimir before bed and in the morning and then I take rapid at mealtimes. I find it OK and have not gone too low overnight, I have had hypos during the day but I think that is the rapid causing that. Dont worry it will help you. good luck

I just went off Levemir. I didn't experience any lows from it at all. Any lows I had were due to my fast acting at meal times. I took the Levemir at bedtime per my doctors instructions. Ask your doctor when it would be best for you to take it. I had to stop the Levemir and change to Lanuts because I was sensitive to something in it. I would get small reactions at the injection site. Hopefully this will not be a problem for you.
